If you have been to most large churches you have seen the nice video they have for their songs, announcements, and sermons. So, where do they get all that nice video? We have been to several churches around the country, some very large and some very small. Most of the large churches have some form of streaming media already in place. Some have all services and some have teachings. I receive e-mail newsletters from various churches, some everyday and some weekly. On the other side is the smaller churches. I get to visit on Sunday with the pastor and other key people but after that, I wait for next Sunday. I asked several small churches why they did not have a website and why they did not webcast their services. The response was generally the same, money. Money was the number one answer. I began to research this and even talked to some of the media people in the church. I found that 90% of them had information from years ago when streaming online was a new thing and it was very expensive. Most gave me this big list of all the things that they would need and how much each part cost. I have to say that ,yes webcasting WAS a lot of money at one time. Now webcasting is not much money at all. In fact, streaming on the net can be done no matter what your budget is. Most churches already have everything it take to start this Sunday. The churches simply don’t know they have what it takes. Visit this page on our site to see a diagram of the online streaming setup. Here is the link. If you need a few of the small pieces to finish your live netcast setup, you can find the items here.
When it come to the service you use to stream, I have some available here. http://www.comf5.com/myministrylive. They have packages from $10.00 a month. There are some free services out their like ustream.com but I have to warn you, the “free” services are not ad free. And you have little or no control on the material advertised. I would encourage you to try the ComF5. There is no contract to join so you don’t like it, just cancel.
After I finish telling the media team and pastor about this and how easy it is the live stream I always get a big thank you. Most say, “I never knew that it was so easy and affordable to get my message out to the entire world”. Sometimes, they ask me to dinner to talk more and my response is, ” Your dinner for just this meal will be more than one month of webcasting.” Think of how many souls will be touched by your message. The church members can now go back and watch an archived service and get a better understanding of your message.
Thank you for reading this post. Please bookmark this site and share it on FaceBook etc. I encourage you to come back and see new information and updates that are useful in your ministries media.

One certain thing you will get in your e-mail box is SPAM. We all know how annoying that is. So, I have to ask you, are you doing the same thing to your own church members? Maybe it is or maybe not. But do you really want to take that chance? Many churches simply have a guest card that people fill out and it asks for an e-mail address along with other information common to contact forms. The question is, if a person puts his or her e-mail address on that card does that mean they want every e-mail you send out? Probably it does not. I’m sure a visitor from Alabama does not care about the spaghetti dinner next Saturday in Oklahoma. So how do you fix this?
How can you know exactly what readers want to read? This is defined by the reader and not by you. It is important to let the reader select what they want to receive. If a reader doesn’t find your content to be of interest, they’re going to stop opening your emails.
In fact, a recent survey found that 85% of consumers prefer that churches and businesses ask about their e-mail preferences at sign up. So instead of just taking an e-mail, try putting some preferences on the form as well.
For example,
Please select what type of e-mail you are interested in receiving.
1___ I would like to receive all communication from your church.
2___ I would like to only receive monthly newsletters.
3___ I would like to only receive the announcements.
4___ I prefer only to receive e-mails as direct communication.
Since people are used to customizing the things they are most interested in, your prospective readers will be way more likely to fill out your form when you offer preferences because they’ll feel like they are in control.

Today in Yahoo.coms’ job section Information Technology came in 5th place on the report about recession proof jobs. The reported average earning of an I.T. Professional is $43.35 per hour. WOW! This salary range in way above the national average and I have seen some reports having IT people bringing in 6-figure incomes. One of the biggest problems for this industry is outsourcing, especially for software engineers. The highest pay and job security right now is in network administration and Internet security. The estimated growth of this industry according to Investopedia.com is 45 percent by 2018 for the designing and securing of computer networks.

So, what does a network administrator do?
Here is your answer - Computer networks consist of at least two computers for data sharing purposes. They are essential to every modern business, organization or governmental department. What a Network Administrator does, in brief, is to ensure that these networks stay operational.
General Responsibilities of the Network Administrator
Network Administrators are responsible for network design, installation and maintenance. They must be able to maintain both hardware, such as servers and routers. Additionally, Network Administrators must be able to monitor and adjust the system’s performance. Other common duties are as follows:
- Ensure security of the system
- Ensure data backup
- Restore operations after a crash
- Gather data to identify user needs
- Troubleshoot problems
- Train personnel in use of the system
Specific Jobs of the Network Administrator
Naturally, responsibilities of the Network Administrator will vary, not only according to the size of the network, but also according to the network environment. A Network Administrator working with a rural school district, for instance, may not have the same concerns that one working with a global military system may have. However, many LAN administrators may need to perform the following tasks:
- Install, maintain and upgrade personal computers
- Administer network workstations
- Manage e-mail systems
- Maintain licensing agreements
- Create and remove user accounts
- Install firewalls and appropriate cryptography
- Develop and conduct training
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Where can you get traing to become a Network Administrator?
Here is a website I found with a list of different schools for a career in Network Administration.

Microsoft’s search engine BING.com and Yahoo Search are finally joining forces in search to take on Google.com in the search engine battle to be the best. What the deal brings to both parties is Microsoft’s Bing.com will be powering Yahoo’s search with the Bing engine.
Yahoo.com will become the sales force for both companies’ premium search advertisers.
Microsoft recently released a new search engine “Bing.com”, a decision engine. This merger between the two search engines clearly has its sights on chipping into Google’s 65% market share. Mr. Ballmer says, “Through this agreement with Yahoo, we will create more innovation in search, better value for advertisers, and real consumer choice in a market currently dominated by a single company”. The combined search market share is currently only half of what Google’s, 30% to 61% respectively, so there is still a long road ahead to take some of that lead from Google.

The Associated Press reports a 10-year deal that calls for Yahoo to adopt Microsoft’s new Bing search engine and for Yahoo to keep 88 percent of all the revenues from its search ads sales for the next five years. The long-rumored deal comes a year after Microsoft offered $47.5 billion outright for Yahoo.
This is great news to some of us but Yahoo Japan rejected Microsoft’s Bing and goes with Google in a recent Yahoo news report. Yahoo owns only a 34.8 percent of Yahoo Japan, the majority of Yahoo Japan (38.6percent) is owned by SoftBank. This gives SoftBank majority control. The biggest reason for the move to go with Google is, according to Yahoo Jan’s CEO, “Google is one step ahead in Japanese language services.”
As you can see from this article the Internet is a very competitive place. It is important for the Church to use this information to better promote the Christian businesses and ideas on the web. SEO is important for ministries to the point where if someone searches for a church in your area, you want them to find your church. If someone searches “Salvation” you want them to get the correct Salvation message. I encourage all ministries to make sure you are listed correctly in the local search engines. Make sure your description and titles are relevant to your ministry. You do not have to “pay-per-click” but at least make sure people can find you. People maybe looking for a church to donate some extra money. People may be looking for prayer. Whatever the reason, make your ministry website show up in your area when it is needed by a stranger. In closing, if every church followed this we would be able to type in salvation and really get the message of salvation.
