Interview with Evangelist Moses Mutongole – Uganda
Evangelist Moses Mutongole is a man on a mission. As a former street orphan, he understands first hand, the need to reach out to needy children in rural unreached places. The vision he has is great, it includes: creating a global network through ministerial partners that focuses on sharing the gospel to the nations, establishing a mission base where men, women, and children will be raised up to serve God’s purposes in this generation, organizing and coordinating leadership conferences, workshops, seminars for empowerment, and a Needy Care Project that focuses on feeding, caring, and educating needy children in Uganda. Moses is the Founder of Immanuel Foundation Ministries in Uganda which was birthed in November, 2007. Since the birth of this ministry, there have been many souls won for the Kingdom of God through evangelism. Moses has a strong conviction that he will win a billion souls for Christ before he is laid to rest. His website is www.idfuganda.org; you can reach at ugandacrusaders@yahoo.com and for Missions : idfuganda@aol.com
1). What technology do you have available to you in Uganda?
We have internet, cell phones, and social networks online
2). How do you use these in your ministry?
Sharing the vision with other like-minded people all over the world and networking
3). How big is Social Media in Uganda?
It is big! One of the greatest is Facebook because it is easier to use compared to any of the others.
4). Have you seen Social Media have a measurable impact on your ministry?
I have been able to connect and fellowship with different people and have made some friends especially through Facebook.
5). Do you use Twitter, MySpace, or just Facebook?
I have not tried to use Twitter but I have tried to use MySpace once. I use Facebook now.
6). Do you use videos or films and how do you use them?
Well, I have done some few video shots with digital cameras but they result into poor quality and also the internet connection in Uganda is slow to load them on Youtube.
7). How is Social Media a time saver to you in your ministry?
It’s a time saver in a way that I connect with many people in one place at the same time, in the same fellowship online.
8). Are there many Christian TV or Radio Stations in Uganda and if so, do you use them in your ministry?
There are so many Christian TV and Radio Stations here in Uganda but they charge high costs to broadcast which is a problem to ministries that are in the infant stages of growing, because they have not yet developed alot of financial partners.
